Let’s face it, most of us rely on our Web Developer to make sure that everything is set up properly on our websites.
After all looking through lines of code for one particular piece is kinda like looking for a needle in a very big haystack.
Line after line of code? Well, it all starts to look the same.
How do you know that your analytics code and other google tags, as well as the famous Facebook Pixel, are installed properly on your site? How do you know the information you need to make good decisions is being sent to the proper accounts?
I wrote in an earlier article about a tool called the Facebook Pixel Helper. Click Here if you missed it.
Today I want to talk about another Chrome extension that will help you identify what google tags are on your site or any site for that matter.
It is called the Tag Assistant (By Google).
To find it search Google for the Tag Assistant or CLICK HERE. The Google Chrome Store will come up and after you click on it, you can choose to install it.
It will be added to your browser extensions to the right of the URL bar.
Once Google Tag Assistant is in place you can check any website and see what Google tags are on the website.
This will enable you to verify the work of your webmaster and make sure that everything is working. After all, who’s money is at risk if you’re trying to use your website to sell your products and services and you don’t have the correct data to make decisions?
A Webmaster can make an error (believe it or not). And when it’s so easy to verify there’s no reason for you not to double check your site.
Google Tag Assistant will not only tell you if the tags are on your site but if they’re firing properly. Plus it’ll tell you what data is being passed along.
It is a powerful tool and it’s easy to install and use.
Check it out and see what tags are on your website!
