What Are You Selling?

Go Social Experts, located in Eau Claire, WI, offers social media management strategies for Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms.

Let me predict what’s happening: You’re posting and interacting with people on your Facebook page, but it’s not leading to any sales or leads.

This is a common problem for people who haven’t learned to sell their services and products effectively using Facebook.

The act of selling doesn’t take any longer than not selling. It just requires doing activities in a different order.

What I want to take a few minutes talking about here isn’t the process of selling. I’ll talk about that in a future article. I want to talk about the very first question that you need to answer if you want to sell anything.

What are you selling?

Most of the time, the sales process starts long before you get to the point of asking someone to buy from you.

The key is identifying those steps and developing a system to lead people in a direction that offers them value and brings them closer to buying from you.

So what this means is that we may be “selling” on our sales-orientated Facebook page without asking anyone for money.

What do I mean by that?

Well, if we’re able to move people to the next step in our selling process starting on Facebook, we are selling even if this step generates no direct revenue.

Look at it this way. When someone is in the position to hire a Facebook marketing expert, they will rarely take that step before talking to the person or company they are considering hiring.

Knowing that, one of the steps in my sales process is to offer a Complimentary Consultation Call where I help you develop a customized Facebook marketing plan. This isn’t for everybody, but if you are interested in talking to me, schedule a call at http://gse.run/brian45.

The idea is to use our own success system to generate business for our company. We do this by providing value on our Facebook page and offering other information to help our followers have success in their Facebook marketing. When our followers are ready to take the next step in Facebook marketing they contact us and we talk to them and if we agree that we should work together, we move forward.

At other times, when I’m helping others learn how to implement paid Facebook marketing on their own, I’ll talk about my program, Smart Facebook Marketing, which trains business owners or their staff how to manage their own Facebook marketing to get fast results. I offer the same value, but instead of offering a free call, I send people to the information page about my course here.

In both cases, my Facebook page is part of the sales process, but I’m not actually selling anything right on the page.

My challenge to you is to decide what you are selling and then look at your Facebook efforts and see if they’re leading people to the next step you want them to take. If they are, congratulations. If not, sit down and lay out a plan so you can get better results.

If you want help, I offer one-time, 45-minute coaching sessions. These are ideal if you have almost everything you need but one or two issues are limiting your success. You can invest in one call from me and move your efforts forward faster. Click here for more information.

Have a great week!
